October 19, 2016 - Baltimore City, Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory

 

The building dates from 1888 and has both interior and exterior gardens.  This is a vast botanical garden and historic conservatory situated in Baltimore's Druid Hill Park.  Inside we toured the Mediteranian Room, Cactus Room, Orchid Room and the Tropical Room.

 

Following the visit to the conservatory we dined in an historic restaurant known as "The Dizz".  The downstairs was decorated with photos of famous people who dined there as well as newspaper articles praising the neighborhood restaurant--especially for its burgers.

 

The trip is one many of us will remember for a long time.
